Struggling to get engagement on your business’ TikTok videos? Popular and catchy sounds are just one part of a TikTok video, but the audio you use can be the secret ingredient that helps your content go viral. When you’re scrolling through your feed, you’ll likely see the same TikTok trends and sounds pop up time and time again.
But how can you find trending TikTok sounds and songs to use with your videos? I’ll walk you through five tools to help you find current and popular soundbites on TikTok so you can use them effectively for your business.
5 Places To Find Trending TikTok Sounds
Finding the right trending TikTok sound can help build brand engagement and visibility. The list below doesn’t cover every channel to find trending sounds, but these five are some of the best:
1. TikTok’s Search Function
Use the TikTok app’s search functionality to look for sounds to use. I recommend searching for “trending sounds” or “viral sounds” – this will load up relevant content (and audio), or you can use the “Sounds” tab to see what most accounts are using.

2. TikTok’s For You Page
Check out your TikTok’s For You page to see what sounds other people are using – it won’t take long to see what songs and audio pop up regularly. As a business owner, it’s worth assessing what trends your competitors are jumping on to make sure your content is riding the latest viral wave.
Top Tip 💡
If your business has customer personas, consider setting up an account where you behave and interact with the app in the same way as your target audience. This could be as simple as interacting with similar businesses and relevant creators, and searching for products to get an idea of what your customers might be seeing on the app.3. TikTok’s Sound Library
TikTok has its own sound library on the app, so you can easily see what sounds are trending. To browse these sounds, create a new video by clicking the plus symbol in the bottom bar. From there, click “Add sound” at the top to see helpful playlists, such as viral sounds, recent songs, your favorites, and TikTok’s recommended sounds.
4. TikTok’s Creative Center
The Creative Center is a great hub and resource to find trending sounds. You can search for trending songs by region and time – with each entry, TikTok provides a visual graph to represent the song’s performance and growth over the selected period. I also really like that there’s an option to see songs that have been approved for business use.
When you’re promoting a brand, product, or service, the sounds you use must be cleared for commercial use due to licensing issues. TikTok files suitable music under its Commercial Music Library, but do double check what you can and can’t use before posting.

5. TokChart
TokChart is a third-party website that displays the hottest sounds on TikTok in a handy chart, saving you the hassle of scrolling through your own feed to see what’s trending. Like the Creative Center, you can browse this data by location and filter it by time. You can also see trending audio separated by sound or music.
How To Use Trending Sounds
Once you find the trending sound you want to use, select the “Use sound” in the bottom right of the sound’s profile to add it to your TikTok editor. You’ll then see it at the top of your screen when filming your content.
Top Tip 💡
When using TikTok for your business, make sure you understand how the trending TikTok sound is being used to ensure your content is successful. If a song is going viral on TikTok and it’s accompanied by dance content, it doesn’t make sense to pair a completely different trend with the audio.Finding TikTok trends and audio will help your business reach new audiences and engage with the platform successfully. To help keep your finger on the pulse, I recommend saving any trending sounds you see when scrolling – you can then easily access these under your “Favorites” tab.
As with all trends and viral media, it’s all about the timing. Trending sounds will disappear, and new sounds will take their place, so this is something you need to stay on top of or risk your content feeling outdated.
