Google Search Remains Volatile After August Core Update

Following the completion of Google’s August 2024 core update, the search landscape remains turbulent. Some volatility trackers continue to show high fluctuations in the SERPs, despite the recent algorithm update coming to a close on September 3rd – taking a quick 19 days to roll out.

Now, with over a week having passed since the end of the update, SEO professionals and businesses are surprised to see continued volatility. Is it a sign of more behind-the-scenes work from Google? Could another update be around the corner? Whatever the reason, we might simply have to buckle up and ride the Google rollercoaster.

High Volatility in SERPs

I monitored a lot of volatility in the lead-up to Google’s recent core update but, for many trackers, the heated landscape shows no signs of calming down. This isn’t unprecedented but I didn’t expect to see the volatility climbing.
