Google’s March 2025 core update ended on March 27, but how have search results been impacted in the weeks since? As we headed into April, the SERPs seemed relatively calm, but I’ve noticed a few spikes in volatility, particularly in the last couple of days.

Is this just the aftermath of the March core update, or could it be a sign of an under-the-radar update from Google?

Shifts in SERPs

The SERPs remain unstable in April, with plenty of ups and downs appearing in the trackers:

Outcome of March’s Core Update

Google’s March 2025 core update aimed to display relevant content in search results and better support content creators. Following its rollout, the SEO community and website owners commented on its widespread impact on businesses, the decline of forum content (except for Reddit), and the devaluing of unhelpful content.

Of course, with any algorithm update, volatility in rankings is expected. I’ll keep an eye on the trackers as April continues – Google hasn’t officially confirmed a new update, so it’s likely this is standard SERP fluctuation.
