Even the most seasoned social media users can struggle to generate fresh content ideas. Hopping on TikTok trends is a useful way to connect with your audience, inject humor into your business, and make life easier when your creative juices aren’t flowing. On top of that, the algorithm loves them!

This said, the TikTok For You Page (FYP) can be a crazy place, and it’s not always easy to identify the appropriate trends for your business to partake in. To make life easier, I’ve found four TikTok trends for February that are versatile, adaptable, and most importantly used and approved by businesses of all sizes.

1. No Mi Bunny Meme

🎵 Trending sound for this video: le petit fille de la mer

This trend started at the end of January when TikTok users discovered the artwork of Israeli artist, Irena Aizen. Unsurprisingly, Irena’s depictions of anthropomorphic rabbits dressed in human clothing immediately became the biggest TikTok trend we’ve seen this year.

The trend uses two carousel pictures that describe before and after losing something precious, with the text roughly as follows:

  • Picture one: “How I look when the robbers take [item]”
  • Picture two: “No mi [item]”

Think about something indispensable to your business, such as the product you’re known for or a service you provide. Then, you’ll need to choose one of Irena’s paintings and create two slides showing the process of losing that product.

The versatility of this TikTok trend is what has made it so popular. To name a few, I’ve seen Irena’s rabbits turned into a cake by a bakery and a makeup look by special effects artists – the possibilities are endless!

2. You’re So Funny

🎵 Trending sound for this video: She Looks So Perfect

Ever heard the sentiment that dark life events make funny people? This trend leans into that idea by responding to the statement “you’re so funny” with “thanks,” before proceeding to elaborate on the character-building moment that made them that way.

Like a lot of TikTok trends, this one will incorporate some humor into your brand, appeal to younger audiences, and show that you’re listening and reacting to them. To take part, you can post a picture of your choice with a funny anecdote about your business.

General anecdotes brands have been using include:

  • A unique selling point/well-known part of the brand identity
  • A response to trends their products have been involved in – for example, Oreo said “thanks, people keep dunking me in milk until the bubbles stop”
  • A (lighthearted) staff pet peeve, like in the example below:

3. I Make The Face, You Make The Sound

Front-facing videos will help you connect with your audience on a deeper level. If you’re daunted by speaking to the camera, the “I make the face, you make the sound” trend is a lighthearted way to introduce yourself and put a face to your business.

The video concept is simple and only involves two people, whether that be your co-founder, a staff member, or a brand ambassador. The first person will pull an exaggerated facial expression while the second makes a sound to match it – the sillier the better.

4. Valentine’s Day

One of ecommerce’s peak seasons is just around the corner, and if you’re strategic, TikTok can help you boost your seasonal sales even higher. It’ll be no surprise that one of my top TikTok trends for February is Valentine’s Day-related. While I haven’t seen a specific trend yet, Valentine’s Day promotions are heating up on my FYP. If you’ve released a new product, variation, or limited edition line, now’s the time to show it off!

Top Tip🛒Consider adding your Valentine’s Day products to TikTok Shop. You can link them under your video to make it easy for people to buy your products without leaving the app.

With the TikTok ban delayed until April, there’s hope that the app might remain in the US, so you should continue to post regularly to keep your followers engaged and grow your business. These four TikTok trends for February require minimal time to plan and execute and have high visibility on the FYP!
