TikTok trends are constantly changing. Keeping your finger on the pulse requires spending a lot of time on the app – time that a lot of businesses don’t have. I’ve done the work and found five quick and easy TikTok trends that have been tried and tested by businesses.

Whether your New Year’s resolution is to start your business’ TikTok or if you’re simply looking for inspiration, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to find some of the top TikTok trends your business can use to start 2025 off with a bang.

1. 2025 Ins and Outs

For this trend, you’ll share two recommendations: your “ins” and your “outs” – in other words, positive habits that should be picked up and old habits that should be left in 2024. It’s a simple yet effective way for your business to build trust with its audience by sharing unique and valuable insights.

To keep your content authentic, you should focus on sharing honest and unique opinions rather than heavily recommending your products over other brands. REN executes this well by sharing general skincare advice alongside a video of someone using its skincare products

2. Type A vs Type B Friend

The “type A vs type B friend” trend is a fun play on two opposing personality types. Type A personalities tend to be driven, time-conscious, and detail-oriented, whereas type Bs are more relaxed and easy-going.

The trend originally started with friends comparing their responses to scenarios, such as going to the cinema or booking a holiday, but I’ve noticed a few brands pick this up to cleverly promote their products.

H&M Move has demonstrated the many ways brands could make use of this trend. It could be used to demonstrate the range of products your business has on offer, like in the example below, highlighting H&M’s varied athleisure line. The brand has also used this trend to show off its impressive product packaging (type A) compared to the plain, cardboard boxes you could expect from other brands (type B).

3. What’s in My Bag?

“What’s in my bag?” videos have been popular for years, and have surged again in January by brands showing their new product lines. It’s a simple concept that’s quick and easy to replicate – not to mention highly effective for boosting product sales.

The best part about this trend is its versatility – it can be adapted for a range of businesses, whether you sell jewelry, sneakers, or sunglasses. Simply film yourself removing your products from, or putting them into, a bag. Brands like Uniqlo have cleverly angled this to show the quality and spaciousness of the bags themselves.

4. Gen Z Colleagues Write the Video Script

If you’re looking to inject some humor into your TikTok, this one is a great way to show your brand personality. In these videos, businesses make light of the terminology used by Gen Z social media users by recruiting young colleagues to write a script for their older counterparts.

You can have a lot of fun with this trend and be creative with the angle. For example, you can use it to show off your products, or as a behind-the-scenes look into a typical day in your business.

5. Oops, I Flipped the Camera

Finally, the “oops, I flipped the camera” trend gives you the green light to hype up or promote any news worth sharing to your audience. It’s perfect for any type of company announcement or new product launch, or simply to show off how great your product or service is!

You only need two clips for this one. The first should be a slightly controversial or surprising statement written over a video of a relevant product or location. For the send, the camera is “accidentally” turned to face the POV of the typist.

The POV clip is where you can get creative. The example of a children’s toy shop below shows a child being behind the message, and pet stores have used hamsters. The more unexpected the better!
