Spring has officially sprung! And, with the month of April comes important tax season deadlines and a new financial year. So, if you’re thinking about building an online store or want to expand your inventory, I’ve collected five of the top products to sell in April to boost your sales during these warmer months.

1. Cleaning Supplies

It’s that time of year – everyone’s having a spring clean! Cleaning products are a must-have for most homeowners and businesses, so April’s a good time to think about the supplies you have in your inventory as people dust off their shelves and get everything fresh for the new season.

The term “household supplies” has a strong search volume of 9,900, but I’d particularly recommend looking at specific items. For example, “floor cleaning supplies” is currently trending up by +1,977%.

If sustainability and eco-friendly products are important to your audience, consider selling non-toxic cleaning products. This means your supplies use natural and sustainable ingredients, instead of harmful ingredients, which makes them kinder to the planet. The term “non toxic cleaning products” has a search volume of 9,900 and an upward trend of 22%.

2. Ice Makers

Customers are ready to shake off their winter coats and look ahead to spring and summer with a refreshingly cool drink in hand. That’s why countertop ice makers have been topping the bestseller list on Amazon for appliances.

In general, “portable ice makers” has an impressive search volume of 22,200, with an upward trend of +241%. However, if you’re not sure your business wants to import and sell appliances (particularly with the latest US tariff news), you could sell a more manageable product in your online store. My research shows that searches for “ice molds” and “ice cube tray large” are up +236% and +5,900%, respectively.

If your business caters to a particular niche, you could consider selling fun-shaped ice cube trays or molds – if the product makes sense for your customers. For example, if you sell kids’ toys and gifts, you could also sell ice cube trays in the shape of animals or popular characters.

The phrase “lip stains” has an incredible search volume of 60,500, and specific terms, such as “lip stains peel off” and “long lasting lip stains” are showing an upward trend of +653% and 1,592%, respectively.

For example, searches for “stainless steel BBQ tools” and “chicken leg tongs” are up 400% over the last 12 months. And, according to Shopify, outdoor grills are a trending product for its merchants in the kitchen and cooking market.

If you’re selling meat utensils, kitchen appliances, or other food supplies, why not bundle your goods together? For example, you could provide seasoning, dish towels, aprons, or even food, in one large product bundle to help customers prepare for upcoming summer BBQs and picnics.

5. Padel Rackets & Gear

For sports businesses and fitness websites, padel (also known as padel ball or padel tennis) has been growing in popularity over the last year. In fact, padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world right now, with over 25 million players. The racket-based sport combines the styles of tennis and squash, but the game requires specific equipment, which is where your store could step in. According to Google Trends, interest in padel is particularly high in Florida.

Search volume for the term “padel racket” is as high as 8,100. And, searches for “padel racket and ball” is currently trending up by +7,100%.

If your customers are interested in padel ball, pickleball is another paddle-based sport where players hit a ball over a net in a similar way to badminton or ping-pong. According to Exploding Topics, searches for “carbon pickleball paddle” have grown by 7,200% over the last five years.
