Looking for a web host that won’t break the bank? Hostinger’s hosting and website builder plans range from $2.99 to $29.99 per month. This might seem like a steal, but does Hostinger truly deliver the value you need for your website? You want reliable hosting without hidden fees or confusing pricing tiers, which is why I’ve dug deep into Hostinger’s offerings to analyze everything it offers:

It’s worth noting that all of Hostinger’s cheapest plans displayed above are on a 48-month subscription plan, although you can opt for shorter plans that cost a little more. Whichever option you choose, Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can try risk-free.

So, what’s the real cost of choosing Hostinger? Stick around as I break down the numbers and help you decide if Hostinger is the right fit for your hosting needs and budget.

I’ve recently updated this pricing guide to make sure all of the fees and information is still accurate. Minor changes have been made to reflect this, including tweaks to the cloud hosting and VPS hosting plans. I’ve also added more information on Hostinger’s website builder plans and repositioned this section to sit higher up on the page.

Hostinger Pricing in a Nutshell

I’ll cut to the chase – Hostinger’s cheapest plans are its shared web hosting options, and they come in two versions: Premium and Business. The prices are seriously competitive, costing just $2.99 and $3.99 per month. Moreover, you’ll get three months free when signing up to a 48-month contract.

Cloud Hosting $7.99 (three months free) $8.99 $9.99 $27.99
VPS N/A $4.99 $5.49 $6.99
Website builder $2.99 (three months free) $2.99 $2.99 $11.99

As for Hostinger’s most expensive options, VPS hosting plans range from $4.99 per month to $19.99 per month. And, by industry standards, even these prices veer on the cheaper side. For instance, HostGator’s cheapest VPS is $34.99 per month, while managed VPS hosting from A2 Hosting starts at $35.99 per month.

When it comes to comparing against other providers, Hostinger sits in the top tree for discounted prices – as long as you’re willing to sign up for longer terms. The three-month free deal with some 48-month plans is a good example of where Hostinger shines in terms of discounts.

Shared Web Hosting: From $2.99

Let’s take an in-depth look at the shared hosting options available, what you get with them, and how much it’ll cost you.

Before I get into it, it’s worth stating that shared hosting plans are cheaper because they’re shared. Think of it like co-housing – you have your own room with all your belongings (your website). However, the resources, such as milk, toilet paper, and living essentials are limited, because you’re sharing them with others. Essentially, your room is your website, and the house is your server.

So, while shared hosting is cheap and works for some (especially smaller businesses), it’s not ideal for everyone. With that in mind, let’s see what Hostinger’s shared web hosting options offer:

Premium: $2.99/month

  • 💰 Cost: $2.99 per month when taking out a 48-month contract (upfront payment of $143.5
  • 💻 Highlights: Free domain for the first year (usually $9.99), free SSL certificate, 100GB storage

There’s no denying that a one-time payment of $143.52 for four years’ usage is excellent value for money, especially for smaller businesses looking to get off the ground without worrying about costs going up. The free domain, SSL certificate, email, and setup included, along with a generous storage of 100GB (Bluehost’s equivalent plan offers just 20GB), only add to the plan’s appeal.

Business Plan: $3.99/month

  • 💰 Cost: $3.99 per month when taking out a 48-month contract (upfront payment of $191.52)
  • 💻 Highlights: 200GB storage, daily backups, free SSL certificate, free domain for the first year (usually $9.99)

There are many similarities between the Professional and Business plan, hence the prices being similar. But Business goes one step further, offering perks like better performance and double the storage to target growing businesses.

Extras like daily backups (as opposed to weekly on the Professional plan) also offer more peace of mind. And that extra performance means the Business plan is built to handle an impressive 100,000 visits to your site per month.

Hostinger Shared Hosting vs Competitors

On the face of it, Hostinger is marginally more expensive than Bluehost and HostGator’s cheapest plans. However, it’s worth noting that Hostinger’s cheapest plan aligns more with Bluehost’s Plus plan ($5.45 per month) and HostGator’s Baby plan ($4.50 per month) in terms of features provided. Therefore, when it comes to value for money, it’s hard to argue against Hostinger’s shared plans as one of the best options on the market for smaller businesses looking to save while they build.

Cloud Hosting: From $7.99

Entering the world of cloud hosting makes everything a little bit more professional, thanks to the use of a network connected to servers hosting websites. Unlike traditional hosting, where a website is hosted on a single physical server, cloud hosting distributes your site across multiple servers, all working together seamlessly.

For many ecommerce stores, lead generation sites, and high-traffic projects, cloud hosting is ideal because of access to more than one server capable of handling high-demand traffic.

Let’s take a look at Hostinger’s cloud options:

Cloud Startup: $7.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $7.99 per month on the 48-month plan (upfront payment of $383.52)
  • 💻 Highlights: Free SSL, daily backups, 200GB storage, 3GB RAM, free domain privacy protection, free CDN, dedicated IP address

The Startup plan is the entry-level Cloud Hosting option and is ideal for small to medium-sized websites with good storage and a competitive starting price.

With the Startup plan, you get a good balance of resources and features at an affordable price. The 200GB SSD storage and unlimited bandwidth make sure your website has room to grow, while the free SSL certificate and daily backups provide security and peace of mind.

Cloud Professional: $15.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $15.99 per month on the 48-month plan (upfront payment of $767.52)
  • 💻 Highlights: 250GB storage, 6GB RAM, free CDN, free domain privacy protection, free SSL, free website migration, dedicated IP address

With the Professional plan, you get an option designed for growing businesses and websites with higher traffic thanks to more RAM and storage. Upgrading to the Professional plan gives you more storage, RAM, and CPU cores to handle increased traffic and resource-intensive applications. Priority support also means you get help when you need it.

Cloud Enterprise: $29.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $29.99 per month for a 48-month plan (upfront payment of $1,439.52)
  • 💻 Highlights: 300GB storage, 12GB RAM, 6 CPU Cores, free CDN, free domain privacy protection, free SSL, free website migration, dedicated IP address

Enterprise is the most powerful Cloud Hosting option and is largely used for bigger websites and online stores with high traffic levels and demands.

With the Enterprise plan, you get even more resources and performance to handle some of the most demanding websites and applications. The combination of ample storage, RAM, and CPU cores means your site can run smoothly even when it’s receiving high volumes of traffic. That’s why this plan is likely to interest larger businesses that want a seamless experience.

Hostinger Cloud Hosting vs Competitors

Not many providers offer cloud hosting as a specific plan, with HostGator even removing the option for new signups. Therefore, anyone after a dedicated cloud plan really only has a couple of good quality options, and Hostinger sticks up well compared to Bluehost – it’s certainly the cheaper option.

VPS Hosting: From $4.99

If you’re ready to take your website to the next level, Hostinger’s VPS (Virtual Private Server) hosting might be just what you need. With VPS hosting, you get your own virtual server with dedicated resources, giving you more control and better performance compared to shared hosting. Hostinger used to offer eight VPS plans, but it was a little complicated if you ask me. Eight has now become four and you’re limited to a maximum term of 24 months – let’s see what they offer:

KVM 1: $4.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $4.99 per month on a 24-month plan (upfront payment of $119.76)
  • 💻 Highlights: 1 CPU, 4GB RAM, 50GB storage, 4TB bandwidth

KVM 1 gives you a solid foundation for your website at a price that won’t make your wallet feel the strain. The dedicated resources ensure your site runs smoothly, and the 4TB bandwidth can handle a decent amount of traffic.

KVM 2: $6.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $6.99 per month on a 24-month plan (upfront cost of $167.76)
  • 💻 Highlights: 2 CPU, 8GB RAM, 100GB storage, 8TB bandwidth

KVM 2 is the most popular VPS plan on Hostinger. It still offers those enticing starter prices but gives you a little bit more than the entry plan. Increased CPU and RAM means your site can handle more visitors and requests, while higher bandwidth means a faster-loading website.

KVM 4: $10.49/month

  • 💰 Costs: $10.49 per month on a 24-month plan (upfront cost of $251.76)
  • 💻 Highlights: 4 CPU, 16GB RAM, 200GB storage, 16TB bandwidth

If your website is growing and you need more power under the hood, KVM 4 offers a bit more. With double the CPU cores and quadruple the storage and bandwidth of KVM 2, you’ll be able to handle more traffic and resource-intensive tasks – businesses looking to scale are the target market here.

KVM 8: $19.99/month

  • 💰 Costs: $19.99 per month on a 24-month plan (upfront cost of $479.76)
  • 💻 Highlights: 8 CPU, 32GB RAM, 400GB storage, 32TB bandwidth

With KVM 8, you’ve got some serious horsepower at your fingertips. For anyone running high-traffic websites or resource-hungry applications, the KVM 8 plan is the best available option power-wise when it comes to Hostinger’s VPS hosting. The generous storage, RAM, and CPU allocation can handle even the most demanding websites and applications. And with 32TB of bandwidth, you won’t need to worry about your site slowing down during traffic spikes.

At $19.99 per month, however, it’s almost double the price of the third-most expensive VPS plan. Larger businesses with more resources are more likely to look at KVM 8 as a viable option.

Hostinger VPS Hosting vs Competitors

It’s a mixed bag when comparing Hostinger to other VPS options on the market. There’s no doubt that Bluehost and HostGator are more expensive and have shorter plans (usually, a shorter plan might be appealing, but nearly all web hosting services increase their prices once the initial deal finishes).

Despite the higher cost, however, you’re paying for more features. Whether it’s unmetered bandwidth for faster websites and better latency or more storage, Hostinger falls some way behind compared to the others. It does have more RAM, though, and it’s hard to argue against the lower price point that really gives you a cheaper entry into the world of VPS plans.

WordPress Hosting: From $2.99

Hostinger has optimized its shared and cloud hosting plans for the WordPress codebase, which means it’s equipped to manage and work with arguably the world’s most popular CMS (Content Management System).

✅ Features available in Premium, Business, and Cloud plans:

  • Free automatic website migration
  • Free 1-click WordPress installation
  • WordPress acceleration (LiteSpeed)
  • Smart WordPress auto updates
  • WordPress vulnerabilities scanner
  • WordPress compatibility checker
  • WordPress multisite
  • WP-CLI and SSH

✅ Features available in Business and Cloud plans:

  • WooCommerce (basic for Business Plan; standard, advanced, and expert depending on the Cloud Plan type)
  • WordPress staging tool
  • Object cache for WordPress
  • On-demand backup
  • WordPress AI tools

All WordPress features come bundled with shared and cloud, meaning you won’t need to pay extra for access to WordPress. As for VPS plans, WordPress doesn’t feature. You would need to install and configure WordPress on your VPS via Hostinger’s OpenLiteSpeed templates. Ultimately, if you’re looking for a managed WordPress plan, your best bet is to choose a shared or cloud plan.

Website Builder: From $2.99

While my focus has mainly been on Hostinger’s hosting plans, it’s worth noting that it also offers a website builder. In fact, Hostinger showcases its hosting and website builder together as a package deal – though you can sign up for a hosting plan and use a different content management system if you wish to do so.

So, let’s take a quick detour and explore what Hostinger’s website builder has to offer and how it affects your overall costs:

Do I Recommend Hostinger's Website Builder?

Hostinger’s website builder has an easy-to-use drag-and-drop editor that lets you create a website without needing to know any code. It comes with a variety of templates, customization options, and features like ecommerce functionality and AI-powered tools. In fact, Hostinger’s AI tools are some of the best in the business.

Hostinger’s pricing is incredibly competitive compared to other popular website builders, such as Wix (starting from $17/month) and Squarespace ($16/month). Ultimately, whether Hostinger’s website builder is right for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. But, I highly recommend considering the builder if you’re looking for a simple and affordable way to get online.

Email Hosting: From $0.59

Perhaps you’re only after an email address. If that’s the case, Hostinger has several email plans that’ll equip you with a business email address.

Business Starter

One of two options, the Business Starter email sets you up with a professional-looking email to build your business.

  • 💰 Costs: $0.59 per month on a 48-month plan (upfront payment of $28.32)
  • 💻 Highlights: 10GB email storage, 10 forwarding rules, 50 email aliases, antivirus check, advanced anti-spam, cloud-based infrastructure

Business Premium

If you’re after a bit more storage and features, the Business Premium is the other option available for Hostinger’s email hosting plans.

  • 💰 Costs: $2.99 per month on a 48-month plan (upfront cost of $143.52)
  • 💻 Highlights: 50GB email storage, 50 forwarding rules, 50 email aliases, antivirus check, advanced anti-spam, cloud-based infrastructure

Hostinger Email Hosting vs Competitors

Hostinger comes out stronger against the likes of A2 Hosting, thanks to being able to send email aliases. This is an additional email address that forwards messages to your primary email account so you can create a separate professional-sounding email address for business or public use without having to manage multiple inboxes.

Next to Bluehost, however, it doesn’t stack up quite as well. While you get more email aliases, Bluehost offers more than double the storage and is marginally cheaper.

Are There Any Hidden Costs?

The last thing you want is a surprise on your bill. So, are there any hidden costs with Hostinger that you should be aware of?

For the most part, no. Hostinger is pretty transparent about its pricing, and what you see is usually what you get. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Domain prices: When you sign up for Hostinger’s shared or WordPress plans, your first year’s domain name registration is free. After that, you’ll pay the standard price, which starts at around $9.99 per year. Alternatively, if you just want to register a domain name with Hostinger, a “.com” domain will start at $4.99 per year. The most expensive option, “.io” costs $31.99 per year.
  • Renewal rates: As with most hosts, the incredible promotional prices on offer now don’t last forever. Once your initial plan term is up, you’ll be charged the regular renewal rate, which is higher but still competitive.

However, there are no setup fees, no required add-ons, and no other sneaky charges that I’ve encountered when testing Hostinger. Overall, Hostinger is fairly straightforward and upfront about what you’ll pay.

Is Hostinger Good Value for Money?

Hostinger consistently offers some of the most competitive prices in the hosting industry. Whether you’re looking for a basic shared plan or a high-powered VPS, Hostinger has options that won’t break the bank. Here are some of my key takeaways:

  • Cheap hosting is only a good deal if it actually delivers the performance and features your website needs – in my experience, Hostinger does just that
  • Plans come with good features, including free SSL certificates
  • Hostinger’s customer support is responsive and helpful

Of course, every website is unique, and your specific needs may vary. If you’re running a high-traffic, resource-intensive site, you might need to look at higher-tier plans or even dedicated hosting from the likes of Bluehost or HostGator because dedicated hosting is an area Hostinger is lacking.

Should You Use Hostinger?

For personal blogs, small business sites, and even many ecommerce stores, Hostinger is more than enough. While Hostinger’s promotional prices are incredibly low, its renewal rates are a bit higher. But, even then, it’s still very competitive compared to other hosts, who also increase prices after the initial rate. And if you’re willing to commit to a longer-term plan, you can lock in those low prices for up to four years.

In my opinion, Hostinger is good value for money as long as you’re not afraid of a longer commitment. It offers a wide range of plans at very attractive prices, and since reshuffling its plans and prices, everything is a little bit easier to follow.

Our Testing Methodology

At Website Builder Expert, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive, unbiased reviews of web hosting providers. Our meticulous research process involves evaluating each host to see how they stack up on pricing and what you get for the amount you pay.

Our approach goes beyond simply comparing specs and marketing claims – we gather real-world performance data and seek out genuine customer feedback to paint a complete picture of each host’s strengths and weaknesses and whether that makes them good value for money.

Moreover, we understand that different types of websites have different hosting needs. That’s why we adjust our reviews based on the specific type of hosting being evaluated and the type of people it’s designed for.

Is Hostinger Worth the Money?

Hostinger offers affordable hosting plans with some pretty good features designed for various needs. While cheaper than competitors, however, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of other options on the market. But if you’re looking for an affordable hosting option to get your business off the ground, Hostinger is the ideal option.
