Squarespace is the easiest website builder I’ve tested, and its growing range of AI features only solidifies its position as the most user-friendly platform.

Unfortunately, Squarespace lacks quantity when it comes to AI features, but the few AI-powered tools it offers are polished and impressive. Below, I’ll share some of the most exciting AI features available with Squarespace:

From my experience using GoDaddy, I could have a website up and running in less than a minute. All I had to do was answer a few basic questions about my business or website type, and submit a prompt so GoDaddy’s AI website builder could get to work.

The generated result isn’t as visually appealing as other builders, like Squarespace, but GoDaddy focuses on speed and simplicity. And, of course, you can make further edits if you want to.

Hostinger is perfect for those seeking a cheaper AI website builder, offering an impressive suite of AI tools to help you build and manage your site. When you first get started, Hostinger asks you to submit a prompt describing your website, alongside your brand name and website type, such as online store. This is similar to GoDaddy’s approach.

Following this, Hostinger’s AI website builder generates a personalized site based on your prompt. The results aren’t as strong as Wix or Squarespace, for example, but it gives you a good starting point. For example, it produced some obviously AI-generated images for my online pet store, but these were easy enough for me to swap out.

Web.com is a new addition to our list of the best AI website builders, offering a speedy and relatively easy-to-use solution. It promotes itself as an AI website builder first, whether you’re looking to build a personal site or an online store.

Like Squarespace, Web.com guides you through the design process, asking you to select a website style (such as playful), as well as font type and color scheme. I liked being able to browse the different creative directions. It took roughly a minute for Web.com to generate a custom template for me, but I could’ve sped things up if I hadn’t looked through every design option.

Despite the rapid pace of Web.com’s AI website builder, I was let down by its lackluster designs. In addition to this, the building process got a bit repetitive at points when I had to input the same information once again, but I can’t fault Web.com for its speed and simplicity when it comes to AI.

IONOS, like GoDaddy and Hostinger, is a combination of two things: it’s a website builder and a hosting provider. When I first tried IONOS a couple of years ago, I wasn’t very impressed by its website-building capabilities. But, after introducing an AI website builder in September 2023, the platform has become a lot easier to use.

That said, there’s a reason IONOS sits at the bottom of this list and that’s because its AI website builder and AI-powered features aren’t as good as what you can get elsewhere. Despite this, I found the AI-building process to be incredibly fast and IONOS offers a ton of AI tools to help you get online.

What AI Features Does IONOS Have?

✔️ AI website builder: Similar to Hostinger, all I had to do was provide basic business information, such as my brand name and industry. The AI-generated website took seconds to create, but I found that the template needed some tweaking in the editor afterward. Thankfully, I could also use IONOS’ AI-powered section generator to add more structure to my pages.

✔️ AI text generator: Save time by using AI to generate your website’s copy instead. IONOS lets you change the tone of voice to suit your business and you can even generate headlines with the tool.

✔️ AI text improver: This feature, unique to IONOS, uses AI to make sure the toen of your text is consistent across your site. This is really useful when tailoring your site to specific industries or audiences.

✔️ AI SEO text generator: Much like Wix and GoDaddy, for example, IONOS can suggest SEO tips and metadata to make sure your site is SEO-friendly.

✔️ AI image generator: Simply write a prompt and IONOS will generate an image. However, like Hostinger, I’d argue that the results can be a little shaky and noticeably AI-generated, which is something that could put off potential visitors or customers.

✔️ AI color palette generator: Specify your desired impression and industry so IONOS can crate a harmonious color palette that aligns with your vision and existing website elements.

How Much Does IONOS Cost?

IONOS’ pricing is split between three plans, ranging from $1 to $17 per month (billed annually). The Plus plan introductory deal of $1 per month is only available for the first year. After that, you’ll be paying $18 per month, which is a pretty steep uptick in price.
