$0 Free – $159 Business Elite
Overall rating

5 out of 5 stars

Based on our 2025 research, Wix is the best all-in-one website builder for individuals and businesses. But how much does it cost? And, more importantly, which pricing plan is best value for money? In a nutshell, Wix’s pricing ranges from $17 per month to $159 per month (billed annually), though I’d recommend the Core plan overall if you want the best value for money:

Key Takeaways 🔍

  • Wix has four core paid plans, ranging from $17 to $159 per month (billed annually)
  • You can test out the builder with Wix’s free plan, but its features are limited
  • To sell online, you’ll need to upgrade to at least the $29/mo Core plan
  • Unlimited storage is only available on the Business Elite plan
  • Wix charges a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction
  • Save 10% off any Wix plan if you use the code “TAKE10”

How Much Does Wix Cost?

Wix offers a free plan that you can stay on for as long as you’d like and comes with a variety of Wix templates to choose from. While it has its limitations (which I’ll discuss later), you’re granted more flexibility and time than the short free trials available with builders like Shopify or Squarespace.

When it’s time to upgrade – which I recommend doing as soon as possible to unlock additional perks – Wix has four premium plans to choose between. Its plans cost between $17 and $159 per month (billed annually).

The cheapest plan, Light, is great for those seeking a personal website or a professional portfolio. If you want to sell online, you’ll need to skip over this plan and choose either the Core, Business, or Business Elite plan. With these, you can sell up to 50,000 products and you’ll get access to advanced analytics and shipping capabilities.

➡️ Short on time? If you’d like a quick overview of Wix’s pros, cons, pricing, and features before I dive into the plans, watch our video review below:

1. Wix's Free Plan: $0 – For Testing

Wix’s free plan lets you start building and editing your website without making a dent in your budget. You don’t need to enter any card details, and there’s no time limit.

However, the free plan comes with limited and basic features:

  • 500MB storage space – this gives you very little wiggle room if you want to upload videos or high-quality imagery
  • Wix ads – a banner ad will appear at the top of your website’s pages
  • A Wix domain name – you can’t use a custom domain name on the free plan so your site’s URL will look like this: www.accountname.wixsite.com/siteaddress
  • Limited features – you can’t sell online and you won’t have access to analytics to track your site’s performance

➡️ Also available on the free plan, Wix’s Business Launcher is new for 2025 and generates personalized business ideas based on your goals, skills, interests, or hobbies. Once you’ve chosen an idea, you can view a custom launch kit that’ll help you bring these ideas into motion.

Top Tip 💡

You can stay on Wix’s free plan for as long as you’d like, but if you’re setting up a business website, I only recommend staying on the free plan while you find your feet. Use the free plan to tweak your settings and work in the editor, but upgrade to a paid plan as soon as you’re ready to share your website publicly.

Does Wix Have a Free Trial?

Wix doesn’t have a free trial. If you want to test out features on one of Wix’s premium plans, such as ecommerce tools or increased storage, you need to pay for it. However, Wix does offer a 14-day money-back guarantee so you can think of this as a trial period of sorts.

This Wix banner appeared at the top of my test website on the free plan, which really clashed with my branding. Source: Website Builder Expert

Should You Use Wix’s Free Plan? 💻

Wix’s free plan is a great starting point for anyone new to website building, but it’s only really suitable for testing things out. The Wix domain and banner ads give any site an unprofessional look and feel. If you’re serious about your website, upgrading to a Wix premium plan is a better choice.

2. Light Plan: $17 – For Portfolios & Personal Sites

Price per month (when billed annually): $17 per month
Price per month (when billed monthly): $24 per month

Besides the free plan, Wix’s Light plan is the cheapest option. You’ll unlock the following features:

  • Removal of ads – the primary benefit of upgrading from the free plan is that your site will be free of ads
  • 2GB storage space
  • Free custom domain for first year – this is available with all premium plans
  • 2 collaborators so you can delegate between a team
  • A light marketing suite, including features such as automated emails and lead-generation forms
  • 24/7 help and support through phone, social media, and a detailed Help Center – live chat support is also available at most times of the day

Because ads are removed and you’re given a custom domain (unlike on the free plan), the Light plan is ideal if you want to establish a professional online presence. Additionally, the inclusion of marketing tools means that you can start promoting your business and increasing brand awareness, too.

Should You Use Wix’s Light Plan? 💻

Wix’s Light plan is ideal for small and informational websites, like blogs, portfolios, and resumes. It lacks advanced features, such as ecommerce, but it does remove ads and the Light plan is a great starting point for anyone looking to build a website.

3. Core Plan: $29 – For Small Online Stores

Price per month (when billed annually): $29 per month
Price per month (when billed monthly): $36 per month

The Core plan is Wix’s most cost-effective plan. Though it’s a slight step up in price from the Light plan, the Core plan introduces plenty of additional features:

  • Wix’s ecommerce features give you the opportunity to sell up to 50,000 products, gather product reviews, offer discounts, recover abandoned carts, accept payments through Wix Payments, and sell via marketplaces and social media
  • 50GB storage space
  • 5 collaborators which is ideal for expanding teams
  • Basic site analytics to monitor traffic and site performance
  • Basic marketing suite – create more forms and introduce a site chat
  • Wix dropshipping – up to 25 products by Modalyst
  • Gain access to Wix Hotel and Wix Restaurants for specialized industry tools
  • Wix Bookings and Wix Events are great for scheduling and organizing appointments and in-person events
  • Stream music and videos through your website
  • Sell artwork online
  • Set up loyalty programs – this is a great way to retain customers and offer unique rewards, such as discounts and coupons

The addition of ecommerce functionality makes the Core plan a huge step up from the Light plan. By enabling payments, you can start selling your goods or services online and keep track of orders from your dashboard.

Should You Use Wix’s Core Plan? 💻

You need to sign up to at least the Core plan to sell online, making it ideal for anyone looking to start an online business or take an existing business online. In fact, our testing revealed Wix is one of the best ecommerce website builders of 2025. But, while the Core plan’s features are impressive, many are still in their basic form. For this reason, I recommend the Core plan for websites and online stores in the early stages of growth. Once sales pick up, it might be time to reevaluate and upgrade to unlock advanced features.

4. Business Plan: $36 – For Established Businesses

Price per month (when billed annually): $36 per month
Price per month (when billed monthly): $43 per month

The Business plan costs $36 per month (billed annually), so it’s not the go-to choice for people just getting started online. You get all of the aforementioned features that come with the cheaper Core plan, plus some brand new features designed primarily for selling online:

  • 100GB storage space
  • 10 collaborators so you can delegate website management to employees
  • Advanced ecommerce features, such as improved gift card options, shipping capabilities, and increased dropshipping products
  • Automated sales tax on 100 transactions per month
  • Unlimited “back in stock” notifications
  • Sell in multiple currencies to reach international markets
  • Additional loyalty program features, including tiers and reward points to improve customer engagement

However, this plan doesn’t come with priority support, which is key if you anticipate needing faster response times to keep up with your business’ operations. For Wix’s best support lines, you may want to pay more for the Business Elite plan instead (if your budget can comfortably afford it).

Should You Use Wix’s Business Plan? 💻

Once your store is getting steady sales, the advanced tools available with Wix’s Business plan are necessary to keep up with demand. While it’s not the cheapest option on the market, it’s considerably less expensive than Shopify’s comparable plan which costs $79 per month. If your business is ready to scale up, it’s time to consider the Business plan.

5. Business Elite Plan: $159 – For Large Businesses

Price per month (when billed annually): $159 per month
Price per month (when billed monthly): $172 per month

At the high end of Wix’s pricing is the Business Elite plan, costing $159 per month (billed annually). Offering everything on the cheaper plans, you can expect the following additional features:

  • Unlimited storage space
  • 100 collaborators which is helpful for large businesses to delegate work
  • Advanced features, including marketing tools, analytics, and ecommerce
  • Priority VIP phone support so you can skip the queue
  • Sell up to 50,000 dropshipping products through Modalyst

Should You Use Wix’s Business Elite Plan? 💻

Due to its expensive nature, the Business Elite plan is only really suitable for thriving businesses that need the support and can easily foot the bill. Beginners and small businesses won’t require the features provided and will be better off with a cheaper plan.

6. Enterprise Plan: Custom Pricing – For Global Brands & Industry Leaders

Wix’s Enterprise plan isn’t meant for the average website owner. Used by the likes of Kroger, Clarins, and Hello Fresh, this plan is intended to be used by large brands and industry leaders.

Since it’s a custom plan, I can’t comment on Wix’s exact pricing, but our research estimates it can cost around $5,000 to $25,000 per year, depending on your business size.

You get everything on the Business Elite plan, plus the unique feature of having a dedicated account manager to help you run your website. This includes a custom, super-charged Wix editor with developer-built component blocks and a global infrastructure of networks to support you – all managed from a multi-site dashboard.

Should You Use Wix’s Enterprise Plan? 💻

The majority of our readers are small or medium-sized businesses, and Wix’s premium plans will be enough to grow with. The Enterprise plan is suitable for industry-leading businesses that need specialized support and features. If you find your business becomes wildly successful one day, you might need the support of an enterprise plan like this.

Additional Wix Fees

Like many website builders, Wix has additional costs to be aware of that could swiftly add up over time. These Wix fees include:

  • Domain name – while these are free for the first year, you’ll need to pay around $14.95+ after the initial 12 months to keep the name registered
  • Custom email address – you can get a custom Google Suite address for $6 per month (billed annually)
  • Apps – plenty of Wix apps are free to use, but others will charge you a monthly fee which can cost anywhere between $3 and $20 per month, so keep this in mind when adding extra functionality to your site
  • Processing fees – Wix charges a standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, no matter which payment provider you use

Is Wix Good Value for Money?

Of all the builders we’ve tested in 2025, Wix is pretty good value for money. It offers a range of plans at various price points, and while Wix can be more expensive initially than other affordable options, such as Hostinger, Wix is worth the money.

Wix is one of the few builders that offers a free plan with no time limit and an amazing depth of creativity and features. Also, Wix’s high-quality features get rolled out at such a fast pace that other builders can barely keep up, justifying its higher price point. So far, in 2025, Wix has introduced its AI-powered Business Launcher tool, a new automation builder, and an integration with Printful for print-on-demand companies.

For the best value for money, I recommend choosing Wix’s Core plan ($29) since this gives you access to a comprehensive range of website-building features, like ecommerce, events booking, and analytics.

How We Test Website Builder Pricing 💰

We put Wix through hundreds of hours of analysis and hands-on testing to determine whether it’s good value for money or not. How do we do it? Our research process looks at a variety of categories, including website features and design functionality, but when it comes to price, we analyze a few key areas.

For our pricing reviews, we pay close attention to a builder’s free trial or plan (and if one is even offered), the average plan cost, and the quality of features available for the price you pay. We also assess the minimum standard of features you get for the lowest fee.

How To Save Money With Wix

Despite the expensive nature of Wix’s plans and various additional fees to keep an eye on, there are a number of ways you can save money when using Wix:

  • Use Wix discount codes – like the code “TAKE10” which will get you 10% off any plan at checkout
  • Pay annually instead of monthly – unless you only want a subscription for a few months, you’ll lose money by paying monthly over the long-term
  • Don’t overpay for a plan you don’t need – for example, there’s no need to upgrade to the Core plan if you’re not looking to sell online
  • Turn off auto-renewal – if you don’t want to keep things rolling, you can stop being charged automatically when your subscription expires
  • Limit your extra expenses – monitor your additional fees, such as apps, to make sure you’re not paying for something unnecessarily if you don’t use it

My Advice for Picking Your Wix Plan

If you’ve looked at each pricing plan but still aren’t sure which one is best for your needs, I’ve put together some key points to consider:

  1. Can you summarize your website’s purpose? – It’s time to go back to basics. Ask yourself what your website is for and use that purpose to decide on a suitable plan. For example, a personal blog or portfolio is best fit for the Light plan, while an online store or monetized site will need to jump up to the Core plan for its ecommerce functionality.
  2. How much money are you willing to spend? – You need to think realistically about your site’s budget, ensuring that you have enough to cover the costs of your chosen plan. Remember, if you’re paying annually, you’ll need to be able to pay for the upfront fees each year. Don’t forget about any additional fees either, like recurring costs for apps or a domain name.
  3. What features do you need? – For this step, note down the website features you’re looking for. This could cover different apps, ecommerce and booking functionalities, the amount of storage space needed, or advanced marketing tools. Once you’re done, compare your list to the features in each Wix premium plan and see which one offers the tools you need.
  4. Do you need lots of room for growth? – Imagine your site in five years’ time. Will the Wix plan you’ve chosen still be able to accommodate your business’ size? For instance, if you run a news website and want to keep adding different media to your homepage, you’ll need to choose a plan that has enough storage and bandwidth to accommodate this content.

Final Verdict: Which Wix Plan Is Best for You?

From our research, Wix is the best-performing website builder overall. It offers four premium plans, plus a free plan and enterprise option for large businesses. To recap, pricing ranges from $17 to $159 per month (billed annually).

Before I finish, let’s quickly revisit Wix’s plans and who they’re best fit for:

  1. The Light plan is best for… personal or informational websites, such as blogs or creative portfolios. There’s not a ton of storage space, but it’s enough to power smaller websites with minimal pages.
  2. The Core plan is best for… small and growing businesses looking to take the next step on their online journey. This is the cheapest Wix plan for selling online.
  3. The Business plan is best for… businesses that require ecommerce functionality to monetize their pages, such as online stores or booking websites.
  4. The Business Elite plan is best for… larger businesses that need more advanced tools – such as wider analytics and unlimited storage space – to accommodate their needs.
  5. The Enterprise plan is best for… leading brands that need specialized support from Wix to maintain the success of their business.

Final Thoughts From the Author

Of the plans I’ve discussed, the $29 per month Core plan is the best value for money. While it’s a little more expensive than Squarespace or GoDaddy, those builders can’t compete with the number of features and support options available on the Core plan.

If you have a small online store or growing business, the value of the Core plan is worth the higher price tag. Of course, I recommend using the free plan or premium free trials to get familiar with Wix and see which plan is the right fit for your website. Give things a spin and explore Wix’s features first!
